Student Voice Opportunity in Minnesota: The Minnesota Youth Council is made up of 36 youth, between the ages of 13-19 years old, attending school around the state. Council members receive stipends to serve as liaisons between young people statewide, youth-led and youth-serving organizations, and the adults elected to lead Minnesota from the Capitol in Saint Paul. Through their official role advising the Governor and state legislature, Council representatives are building a state where all decisions that affect young people are made with and by young people.
