School Board
Board Meetings and Schedule
The Terra Nova School Board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 4:30 PM in the "Lodge" at Terra Nova School.
Communicating with the School Board
As your elected representatives, School Board members welcome questions and conversations related to governing the School District. The School Board is a governing body that makes decisions through a majority vote of the Board. The School Board Chair, or designee, serves as the spokesperson for the Board.
The School Board delegates the administration and management of the School District to the Team Professional Practice (TPP). Questions related to operational or management issues are best directed to the school Operations Committee. Classroom issues should first be directed to the classroom teacher. School and district issues should be directed to the Administrative Designee, Craig Wignes. The Terra Nova School Board takes pride in being available to students, parents, and community members.

Our Authorizer

Minnesota charter schools are tuition‐free, independent public schools that are open to and welcome all students, no matter ability or need, and are governed and operated jointly by licensed teachers, parents and community members. Minnesota was the birthplace of the charter movement with the enactment of the nation’s first charter school law in 1991. As of September 2021 there were 180 charter schools in operation in the state. While 71% of charters are located in the greater Twin Cities metropolitan area, there are charters in communities across the state from Grand Portage to Echo and from Bemidji to La Crescent. As of October 1, 2020, there were 65,987 K-12 students enrolled in Minnesota’s chartered public schools (about 7.5% of the state’s K-12 public enrollment). Terra Nova School is proud to have Innovative Quality Schools (IQS) as our authorizer. IQS is a leader in authorizing innovative Minnesota charter schools, both in the Minneapolis / St. Paul metro area and greater Minnesota. We’ve been authorizing schools since 2010, and today authorize over 30 charter schools.
